Bjørndal Idrettsforening was one of 48 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Ellingsrud Vårcup 2019. They participated with four teams in Gutter 11, Nivå 2 (født 2007), Jenter 13, Nivå 1 (født 2005) and Jenter 13, Nivå 2 (født 2005) respectively. The team in Jenter 13, Nivå 1 (født 2005) made it to the the Final in Sluttspilland won it over Holmen IF by 17-12.

Bjørndal Idrettsforening originates from Oslo, which is the same city as where Ellingsrud Vårcup takes place. The area around Oslo does also provide 35 additional clubs participating during Ellingsrud Vårcup 2019 (Among others: Vestby Håndballklubb, Årvoll IL, Vålerenga, Holmen IF, Snarøya Sp.kl., Hasle-Løren IL, Klemetsrud IL, Rælingen Håndballklubb, Skjetten, SSK and Ammerud Håndball).
