Vålerenga was one of 54 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Ellingsrud Vårcup 2024. They participated with 6 teams in Gutter 12, Nivå 1 (født 2011), Gutter 12, Nivå 2 (født 2011), Jenter 11/12, Nivå 3 (født 2011/2012), Jenter 12, Nivå 2 (født 2011) and Jenter 15, Nivå 2 (født 2008) respectively. The team in Jenter 15, Nivå 2 (født 2008) made it to the the Semi final in Sluttspill, but lost it against Åssiden IF by 5-12.

In addition to this, Vålerenga have participated in Ellingsrud Vårcup before. During Ellingsrud Vårcup 2023, Vålerenga had 6 teams playing in Gutter 15, Nivå 2 (født 2007), Jenter 11, Nivå 1 (født 2011), Jenter 11, Nivå 2 (født 2011), Jenter 12, Nivå 1 (født 2010), Jenter 12, Nivå 2 (født 2010) and Jenter 12, Nivå 3 (født 2010) respectively. The team in Gutter 15, Nivå 2 (født 2007) made it to the the Semi final in Sluttspill, but lost it against Korsvoll IL by 13-17.

Vålerenga originates from Oslo, which is the same city as where Ellingsrud Vårcup takes place. The area around OSLO does also provide 38 additional clubs participating during Ellingsrud Vårcup 2024 (Among others: Nit/Hak Håndballklubb, Furuset Håndball IF, Rælingen Håndballklubb, Oppsal, Kjelsås IL, Ullensaker/Kisa IL Håndball, Njård, Ellingsrud IL, Bækkelagets SK and Gjerdrum IL).
